Located on the Gulf of Thailand, Sihanoukville is a place to unwind, savour fresh-from-the-ocean seafood, go snorkeling or scuba diving and generally slow-down and chill-out. It is Cambodia's premier beach town, sporting miles of white sand beaches, picturesque islands and warm tropical waters.

Sihanoukville has much more to offer than just sunbathing. Additional attractions include the Kbal Chhay waterfalls, the Bokor Hills and the Ream National Park close by. The area is also dotted with picturesque fishing villages. The main town of Sihanoukville is 2km inland, and whilst it is so laidback that cows and chickens wander across the roads, it is not the most attractive of places. However, considering the moderate number of visitors to Sihanoukville, the town offers a surprising number and variety of restaurants and bars. The restaurant scene is growing and becoming more sophisticated. Of course, the fresh seafood, crab, lobster, prawns, and ocean fish has always been Sihanoukville’s biggest draw, but now many foreign cuisines are on offer such as French, Indian, German, Sri Lankan and Italian. There is a pretty good night life as well with a wide variety of bars staying open well into the wee hours.

However, the main reason to come here are the beaches in the area. They stretch for 10km along the coastline like a string of pearls. There are 7 beaches within easy reach of Sihanoukville town, and all offer glories white sand. There are facilities for snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming and are the perfect place to lay back and contemplate your Cambodia journey.
