Set on the quiet bay of Macquarie Harbour, Strahan is a picturesque Tasmanian waterfront holiday town with an abundance of character and a variety of stories to tell of the West Coast pioneering days.

List of All Tasmania Hotels
Tasmania is an island off the mainland of Australia and separated by about 150 miles of the Bass Straight. In total, it is about the size of Ireland or West Virginia.
Tasmania promotes itself internationally as "Australia's Natural State" and within Australia as the "Island of Inspiration". About 40% is protected as national parks, World Heritage Areas and forest and marine reserves. Tasmanians are very passionate about their environment and travelers spending time on Tasmania will soon find that the people are just as precious to the environment as the island animals.
The south-western corner is untamed and unyielding; the north-west, fertile and cultivated and despite a moody reputation, the west coast has its peaceful moments. The east coast is swathed by white beaches, secluded, sheltered bays and spectacular headlands. It is Tasmania's sun coast, edged by crystal blue waters. The east coast beckons you to explore beyond the shore and beneath the sea to giant kelp forests and caves, or even further to the continental shelf, where the big game fish run. Towards the centre, the sharp ridges of Tasmania's western ranges recede to form the 'Land of a Thousand Lakes' - a Mecca for anglers from throughout the world. And then the central plateau falls away to valleys, plains and country villages in quiet repose. These are Tasmania's midlands, legacy of a British colonial heritage and a green-belt of history stretching from north to south.
The island is criss-crossed and encircled with excellent roads that make self-drive touring by campervan or rental car a pleasure. Touring Tassie is an exhilarating experience with amazing sights and surprises around every bend. It feels like a journey of discovery and adventure through colonial villages, misty rainforests, sculpted mountains, racing rivers and alongside sweeping white sand beaches.
To cruise its waters on clear, still days or walk in the vibrant understorey of its primeval rainforests is to glimpse the depth and magic of the natural world. Tasmania is a true-blue, dinkum Aussie wilderness and one of the last untouched frontiers.

"Good for the money, stayed for one night, and found the hotel reception staff not so friendly, as they wanted to just get you to your room, facilities OK, didnt use many, had breakfast but not really worth the money. Rooms are small, I dont think i will be returning".
